Synyster Gates (Guitar) and Avenged Sevenfold have reached the No.1 position on the Billboard 200 album chart with their new release, Nightmare, replacing Eminem’s long-running Recovery in the top spot with sales of 163,000 units in the first week. Nightmare is the rock band's highest charting set, surpassing the No. 4 debut and peak of its 2007 self-titled effort.
MI alum Synyster was also recently named by Guitar World magazine as one of its “30 Coolest Guitarists of All Time,” sharing the list with such rock icons as Keith Richards, Slash and Eddie Van Halen.
